"Kelli is just the right hygienist for me."

Kelli is just the right hygienist for me. The front desk staff makes the appointment process so easy for my family of 5. Dr. Crowl has always been gentle and professional. I still have anxiety about the dentist, from awful childhood dental experiences. I am starting to relax in the chair a little. I am pleased that my children are having an easier time with their dental health than I did.

Veneers
Teeth take a lot of abuse on a daily basis. People chew on ice or pens, bite their fingernails, or eat hard candies, not to mention using their teeth to do things like opening packages. All of this can lead to small fractures in the tooth that can add up to visible damage over time. Many people think that crowns are the only way to repair their damaged teeth. Here at Hidden Lakes Dental Care, many times, we can repair your smile with porcelain veneers.
Veneers are created from super thin pieces of porcelain, approximately .3 to .5 mm thick. They will be permanently attached to the front of your teeth changing the size, shape, or color of each tooth.
Typically, this process will require two visits to Drs. Crowl or Gallos. During your first appointment, several things will happen, first, you will receive an exam to ensure veneers are the best choice for you. Your dentist will discuss what it is that you want to change about your smile, so he can develop a treatment plan for you. It is likely that x-rays will be taken and possibly photos and measurements of your face and teeth. Depending on when it was last done, Drs. Crowl or Gallos may recommend that you have your teeth whitened prior to selecting the shade for your veneers.
If your teeth have been recently whitened, or once the procedure is complete, you will then select the shade for your veneers, and your teeth will be prepped. This involves removing a very thin layer of enamel from the surface of the teeth, no thicker than what the veneer will be. Once this is done, impressions will be taken. A dental lab will fabricate your veneers, which normally takes a week or two.
Once they are ready, your final appointment will be scheduled. At this time, the veneers will be checked to ensure that the shade, size, and shape are accurate. If everything is correct, they will be permanently cemented in place, and you will have a new smile to show the world.
